These are all the details for the Moonlight Garden set. This is an older style kit so everything is made from scratch. I really enjoyed building the tree and ancient guqin even though they both presented unique challenges.
This is the first time I ever made a tree from scratch like this. I spent a lot of time twisting and molding the wires. I kept working at it until it started to look like a tree to me. I’m pretty proud of how it turned out.
Here is the “ancient guqin” musical instrument. So beautiful. I really like the idea of miniature instruments. I spent a lot of time making sure the strings were straight. I knew it would drive me crazy if I didn’t. I had to create a small amount of tension on both sides to accomplish it.
Oh my! That tree looks so tedious to do. You did such a great job on your details, they look amazing! I’m at awe that even the flowers and plants are made from scratch. This kit needs dedication.
This kit does not make things easy. It challenges the builder. It was still enjoyable.
The tree qualifies as a sculpture. I need to practice my tree making skills because there is a tree in every one of my Ancient Traditional Chinese sets. And I’m not upset about that.
I noticed my tree looked best when every branch was pointed slightly up. That is my advice to anyone wanting to sculpt a tree.
Some of the greatest miniature makers in the world and many of them have terrible looking trees….There I said it.
I feel super lucky to have them. I totally agree. I think people all over the world would fall in love with these kits as much as I have. It’s been a mild obsession.
This is such a lovely start. You can really feel the care and patience you put into it
The tree looks fantastic for a first time making one from scratch, and the guqin is absolutely beautiful. Older kits like this have so much charm, even with the extra challenge. I love them too hehe
