Just finished the “Mini Helicopter” by Ugears.
I have been working on and off on it for a few weeks.
I was a Helicopter Mechanic in the Air Force so I kinda have a soft spot for helicopters.
It’s an Old model and the wood showed it. It was dry and even split in one place.
But I got her built, with the help of a little glue.
She works, but not very well.
But she Does look pretty Good.
Excellent build! Looks amazing!
Hello fellow Air Force survivor.
Your story truly inspires us to keep creating. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I think it looks awesome! My friend was a mechanic in military for helicopters as well
I like the colors a lot.
Wow your helicopter looks amazing. I think the white and red colour is really nice.
nice color. The helicopter looks great
Looks so great! Well done
colours are perfect ![]()
Your story interests me a lot! Do you also know how to fly helicopters?
Very nicely done
i like the colors. It seems to me a very interesting job as a helicopter mechanic but also very complicated. Should you have flown by helicopter as well? I would really like to fly in a helicopter someday
That’s such a meaningful build! It must feel special given your background , and despite the challenges, it turned out really nice. A lovely tribute to your time as a mechanic!
I Wouldn’t say I know how to fly but I did log 1000 hrs as a copilot back in the 70’s on the old Huey Helicopters.
I was a “Crew Chief” and went everywhere the helicopter went, so I ended up in the left seat many times.
A Crew Chief is responsible for ALL maintence and must manage the crews that work on, fly in, or Use the helicopter. We were an Air Rescue Outfit so there were Always crews to manage and maintenance that needed done.
I Flew a LOT. As Crew Chief it was my job to always be with the aircraft.
Thats really cool! What an incredible experience you have had in your life ![]()
Super cool ![]()
Never seen this one. You did a great job.
