I finally finished this. I thought it would only take a few hours but it’s taken a couple of hours every night for close to a week since most of this is handmade.
Here’s a few progress shots.
I’m so happy with how it turned out and the sense of accomplishment that comes with creating something beautiful from assorted materials.
I didn’t like the pink plastic plant so decided to not use it. I replaced it with a scrapbooking cutout from my stash - gluing two together to make it double sided.
I then used a hat pin to make the flowers and shape them, although I still ended up with glue all over my fingers.
Finally, I couldn’t bring myself to make the leafy fern behind the sunflowers, so I used a plant left over from another kit.
@JDisaduck Thanks for taking the time to comment. The flowers certainly took a lot of time and the occasional naughty word. The cutout on the back is Kaisercraft.
What a beautiful result
You can really feel the care and time you put into this build, especially with so many handmade details~ We love how you customized the plants using materials from your own stash, it makes the piece truly yours
That sense of accomplishment you described is exactly what crafting is all about
