📖 [Rolife Journey] Aroma Toast Lab by Rolife

Hello Dearest readers

Today I’m going back to you with my “December mystery prize” presentation.
I know others also got the exact same set so it’s nothing new to you, but I thought you’d like to hear also my thoughts on it.

First of course big thanks for Robotime who granted my this gift <3
I must say I was very happy to see this set and I apologize for that but: I love these boxes, they are so cute :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I was looking information about this set: the thing I found out is that this set is available since 2022 on some markets but not on official website. So if you are interested you can find is overall on internet (maybe official shops - but this one sorry i don’t know)

There are 4 sets on that collection Animal store:

  1. Aroma Toast Lab
  2. Lazy Coffee House
  3. Love Post Office
  4. Island Dream Villa

After opening the box you can see the parts packed in plastic bags for easier setup

Of course as usual we get some free supplies that will be a great aid to our buildings : Here I notice that my set is missing of glue tube that at the beginning was not such a big deal for me but later on I found out that my wooden craft glue was not handling the all parts so became quite initiating. I switch to superglue i had but super glue on other site is to strong and i end up gluing my fingers a lot xD

So concerning people who start the journey and have no backup supplies that would be a big setup

Here is my question for you all:
What kind of glue so you use for grass green parts - honestly I had so much trouble with them that assembling the model was more of a chore than a pleasure for some time :grimacing:

I spear you a details of small parts buildings as I was frustrating also didn’t made much pictures: Here notice to all fans of mini houses builders: You have my undying respect for dealing with such small parts. :clap:t3:

Here is the suggestion for one particular piece: The plastic display case wasn’t packaged in any kind of bag, which caused some scratches, which can be seen when the light comes on at the end. Although side B was additionally protected with an outer film, it was missing from side A, where, as you’ll see underneath, the aforementioned scratches are visible. I think this needs to be fixed.

But there was of course moments of joy! I have to say, I was very proud of the piece below. It looks almost like the original.

Later, when the small parts were ready, came the time I love the most, i.e. building the whole thing, and I had a really great time.
Look how adorable these houses turned out!! I added a little something of my own – the flowers on the blue house were originally white, but something didn’t feel right, so I used my new metallic rose acrylic marker and decided to “touch up the flowers a bit.”

And then the results  Looks wonderful

What i like the most about this set that its also very useful. You can see that the stand on this set serves two purposes – it can stand alone as a decorative element, or you can hang it by the door as a keychain hanger!
Brilliant. Not only charming but also practical!

Overall, this is a great set that has many additional functions and, as always, is a delight to build. Thank you for letting me build it Robotime . There are a few things I would improve, but the potential is enormous, so I encourage you to hunt down this set and the other three in the group (I especially like the Love Post Office). I hope you enjoy reading my post. If you have any suggestions for improvements, please let me know

See you in the next project. :face_blowing_a_kiss:

That is very cute. Your wire project came out beautiful!
Since I craft alot, I always have some kind of glue around. I added a type called B-7000 which I use most of the time.
That grass? I always just squeeze a bunch of glue on base and squish that in. It usually works out ok.

THis is such a lovely kit and you did a wonderful job! That wirework is fabulous! I am jealous. I always keep super glue handy, but yes, it is quite messy. I use regular white glue for the moss. I just put it on and press the moss on. I let it dry, then if I need to add more, I use dots of glue and press on more. Happy building to you! What have you chosen to do next?

Really thank you for your valuable input @Wenbare. I wish to learn how to do a precious post that could do something: like inspire others or just have a meaning, like you any many others people here do. Sometimes I fell i’m over excited or over critical about kits in my posts, and i don’t really know if that’s good or bad.

Thank you @jeanneL for all your complements and kind answer to my questions here
I think I need to look for better glue…
I read about your B-7000 looks like good try for me, but i also notice that its take up to 3 minutes to initial setting. I’m really looking to find something quick like superglue but adjustable a little bit (and not destroying my fingertips…).

About grass I tend to do same as you but form me always looks bad (clumpy) that’s why I asked if someone found way to deal with it perfectly

Awwww thank you @Nita_Davis
Indeed super glue is super and helping a lot, but… when you do a mistake…ugh that just another level of self disappointment :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
I do same with moss, but became very clumpy and sometimes fell of so I add superglue there on top and its a messy and then I feel sad as the result is not as I expected :sob:. (perfection freak here…)

Next one is a big project with Rokr marble run :star_struck: I would be honored if you look forward to read it when I finish!

so with that glue, I usually count to about 45-50 and it is good enough to let go

I’ll definitely check it out; I’ve already found a local store that sells it. Maybe it’ll be the one for me too :hand_with_index_finger_and_thumb_crossed:t3:

@aga2713 Such a lovely and honest review :yellow_heart: You really captured both the joys and the little frustrations of this set, which makes it so relatable to read. Totally agree with you about the boxes, they are irresistibly cute :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The grass-green parts can definitely test one’s patience, so your question about glue is a great one for the community. And that metallic rose touch on the flowers? Absolutely inspired, it adds so much character. :cherry_blossom:

Also love that you highlighted the practicality of the stand being both decor and a key holder, charming and clever is the best combo. Thanks for sharing your experience so thoughtfully, and can’t wait to see what you build next :face_blowing_a_kiss:

Congratulations on the mystery prize it’s such a beautiful kit! :pink_heart: And you’ve done an amazing job yourself now everytime you grab your keys you’ll be reminded of this amazing hobby!

As for the green moss as long as it’s on a horizontal surface I actually use strong double sided tape and it works beautifully. Same goes for sand/tiny rocks some older kits might come with.
