📖 [Rolife Journey] Alice’s Dreamy Bedroom- Part 3

This kit has lot of handmade, intricate details. The candles were made from a popsicle stick. Each flower was made by hand. Even the baskets are hand woven.

Many little details.

I actually enjoyed the weaving experience and I’m happy with the results. I have some experience weaving hemp rope.

Most satisfying moment! Cutting tiny kiwis and oranges!

So lovely. I’ve always liked old model kits because they made us do things ourselves.

Oh my goodness your baskets are immaculate! :pink_heart: The candlestick is such a diabolical design but you managed it perfectly too!

The candle stick was not too bad. The beads were very well fitted and that helped me.

Thank you. I used a lot of glue and shaped it like mod-podge. Wrapping the rope is pretty easy. Weaving was much more challenging and time consuming but enjoyable. Only the lids were weaved.

I would enjoy trying to weave more baskets in the future.

I have more old style kits coming up.

Were do you buy them from. Ebay is mega expensive here as they all come from the us.

Living in the US does give me access to a large amount of commerce. I’ve seen sellers in the UK and Australia on EBay. eBay has mostly taken over by Temu sellers. American resellers are dying off. It might help if you change your settings on EBay to show more local listings.

Another good option for after market kits could be Facebook market place. I’ve gotten good deals from local craft stores also. Random websites from google image search. I’m constantly on the hunt.

I really enjoyed it. Except for the shelf. I should have just painted the shelf instead of using wood paper. That was a pain.

I am also not a huge fan of cutting things but this kit wasn’t too crazy with cutting.

I hope the Special Edition Nanci Sakura set has no cutting. I have been putting off opening it because it is so special. Don’t tell me! I don’t want to spoil the surprise. I will accept any challenge that it presents.

It’s a lovely kit. I recommend painting the little book shelf instead of wrapping it with wood paper like the instructions suggest.

If you really want to use the wood paper, pay attention to the direction of the grain when you cut. The instructions don’t tell you. The wood paper can only be folded lengthwise. It will not fold the other direction. You have to wrap the paper around the shelves. You need to cut it the correct direction so the paper is able fold.
