I would like to share with you the Romantic Venice book nook with tiny modifications that you may find useful for your builds.
First of all - the quality is amazing! My small criticism is only towards the paper elements that go into slits. The paper splits easily and then it’s a bit of a pain to put it in place. The rest was seamless and you can really see the effort the designers put into this nook.
On to the customizations. I decided to add touches of gold on various places - balcony, doors, bridge etc. I used acrylic markers and tried to stay within the lines. It’s a bit difficult as the paint tends to spill and flow a bit. Hopefully no one will be looking closely I have added 3 tiny dried plants branches on the canopy over the Mask Shop. I didn’t like that I was just printed, in my opinion 3D plants bring the scene to life.
The last modification was the use mod podge dimensional magic. I applied it on the bricks, elements of the doors and on the water to add more texture and structure. I still need to work on the technique but I really like how it turned out.
Of course, I also painted the edges, it’s a standard now!
This looks absolutely stunning! The golden touches add such a beautiful, elegant feel, and the 3D plants were a brilliant idea — they really bring the scene to life. I love how thoughtful your customizations are; they make an already lovely kit feel even more magical.
That sounds absolutely beautiful. The touches of gold must give the whole scene a warm and elegant glow, and adding real dried plants was a wonderful idea that truly brings the Mask Shop to life. Using Mod Podge for texture is such a smart detail and adds a lot of depth to the build.
There was a transparent plastic insert over a picture of water - it was lightly textured already but I added the mod podge to make it look a bit more natural.
