I wanted to give huge shoutout to ROKR for sending me the pinball machine earlier this year during a contest they were holding on Instagram. I finally finished it! This was my first build to color and now I want to go back to my old builds and color them too, even though it’s harder to do once built. I always wanted to do this build but never could have afforded it on my own, so thank you so much for giving me this opportunity
I also wanted to share a few tips/advise for others who will build this:
-If you choose to do a main color, make sure you have enough of it! I used acrylic markers and I used the most of red. I had to buy two additional packs of markers because the red ran out way before I was finished AND they weren’t even the same shade! I don’t know if you can tell from the photos, but the red in the back of the model is a different shade from that of the other red like the sides and rails on ramps.
-When you are on the step where you are putting in the plastic circle pieces on the playing board, they MUST go in a certain way because when you put on the wood piece behind them a few steps later, there are grooves they must fit in. I didn’t know this and I couldn’t get them back out so I ended up breaking the tabs off the best I could and sanding them down so that they were flush with the piece put over them. (Sorry it might be hard to understand as I don’t know the piece numbers!)
-On page 37, build F17, F18, and J7 and insert into hole with wire. Then add C13 and C25 pieces to make it easier to see where J7 goes. Also, the wire will protrude out some behind F8.
+This is a positive and I didn’t get a picture of it, but the wires underneath are very clearly labeled and look very clean and organized under there!
If you have read this far, thank you so much for taking the time to do so and enjoy the photos!
Beautifully executed with colour customization. Especially the two tone ramp guiderails. Love the playboard painting and enhancements to chose to do. The additional photos you shared in the community vs the FB group are super nice for others to see details. Thank you for this post and the build tips.
This is one of the most beautiful pinball I have ever seen. The colour is spot on. Vibrant and playful.
I love it. Wonderful job in building this one @Maddie_Hayes
@Maddie_Hayes I am glad you were able to add the pics! I had read your post and was hoping to see. Your pics are beautiful and it looks wonderful. Colors are perfect. You did a great job and I am happy Rolife gave you that opportunity!
That looks absolutely incredible! You did such an amazing job — the colors really make it stand out even more. Thank you for sharing your tips, they’re super helpful!
Jesus, this looks AMAZING. I have this set on my future list of builds, although I prefer to keep training myself on smaller assembles first (ironically enough, I’ve started my journey with the Seahorse Barque). But reading this just makes me eager to buy it! I have to admit it though, I’m a bit skeptic about my skills while painting or repainting all of this, so I’m not quite sure I’ll do it at any point.
But hey, great job!
