I finally finished my Sakura Chi House and I’m honestly SO happy about it ![]()

I told you guys before I have four Sakura-themed projects in total — and since this one doesn’t need glue, I picked it to build first. Smart choice because… 500+ pieces and 50 pages of instructions later, here we are
Definitely one of my biggest builds so far!
But okay, real reason I bought this model?
It perfectly fits my Keung To doll ![]()

Yes. The house was chosen with a resident in mind. Once I realized he could fit inside, I was like — okay, sold. That alone already made this project 10x happier for me. Seeing him inside the little wooden house under the cherry blossom tree? Instant serotonin.
The original design was already super pretty, so I didn’t change too much structurally. BUT I had to add lights. I mean… how can you not?? It would’ve been such a waste not to light it up!
So I added three sets of lights:
One inside the house
One around the stairs and exterior
And one on the cherry blossom tree itself
Now the whole thing glows at night and it’s such a vibe.
Since I added lighting, I also upgraded the interior a bit to make it feel more alive — little details like a telescope, tiny paintings, teacups, outdoor lamps, even some cleaning tools. Before the lights, you couldn’t really see much inside. But now that it shines, it deserves main character energy.
I only lightly sanded the edges because I wanted to keep that natural wooden feel. I like that you can still see the wood texture — it makes the whole house feel warm and cozy.
The hardest part? Definitely hiding the wires ![]()
Planning where to place the lights, threading them through, and trying to hide everything took soooo much time.
The base was easier — I just covered the wires with little stones and flowers. Done.
But the wires on the cherry blossom tree? That was a struggle. Some parts are not as neat as I hoped, not gonna lie. And then there were the three battery packs… I hid them with paper, and the biggest one got the “cover it with flowers and rocks” treatment ![]()
If anyone has tips on hiding battery packs or securing tiny wires better, please share! I want to level up for my next build.
Speaking of next build…
Next in my Sakura series is a Japanese cherry blossom street — and it’s a book nook! My first ever one
It’ll involve actual cutting and glue, very traditional style. I’m excited and slightly nervous at the same time.
Anyway, thanks for reading my little Sakura + Keung To happiness story ![]()
