I think the purple and black turned out great!
I started with the paint pens. I then checked out the paint bottles I had and found the metallic purple. Switched to that. So the purple is all bottle. The black and grey and silver is marker. floor is marker.
Nice colors! I’m not a lot into painting myself but you did a pretty decent job in my humble opinion 
Will have those pics in mind! I may and just may try some of the musical instrument ones in the future, so I’ll have those important tips in mind!

It turned out wonderful! You did such a great job despite all those tricky and unclear steps — and I totally get you about the painting part, it can be both fun and tiring at the same time. The final result looks so full of personality, though, and all your effort really shows!

First kit with painting like this. Lots of work and time
Painting always take more time. It turns my possible 4-5 hrs build to something like 1-2 weeks. But it is so worth it in the end.
I love the purple color you give this build 
painting a build takes a lot of time but i think it is worth it
