Following the advice of Rokr themselves, I’m making a topic to showcase and showoff XD (not sure if they meant all my builts? So I’ll start with just the giveaway one)

I won the air balloon in this last autumn giveaway, and I loved the kit :sparkling_heart:, it was small and cute, and yet not too easy because all the arcs pieces for the balloon felt so fragile, I was so cautious when pushing them in their slots XD

When finished, I knew I wanted it to “fly” so I got some fishing line (invisible and strong) to suspend it to one of my lamps, above my 3 little mini-worlds :smiley:

I love the way you displayed your ballon. It looks good centered with the light shadows.

I didn’t design them, got them from a shop in france, called “Action” where they do things for cheap… I think the equivalent in USA is walmart?
They got lots of cool stuff, but you can’t buy online, and stocks are random and limited, so when I go there I like to look into their craft shelf and see what they got :laughing:

Custom made 3d printed shelves, same for the little hooks that pokes out, which are clamped on the switches at the back so I can turn them on and off :smiley:

Thanks for sharing! Nice build and great job. The prize I’ve got for October was of a similar style (the 3D airplane) and I have similar vibes about it. I may even steal your idea and let it hang and fly somewhere! We’ll see. Your balloon looks amazing up there!

If you do, depending on where you wrap the string around the plane, i’d avise just a dot of glue at some of the jointing parts. Like, here, I put a dot of glue where the “ropes” fit into the basket, because it was a vertical tab into a hole, and while it looked like it would hold pretty well (rokr kits are pretty good with perfect sizing for pieces that fit together) but just to be sure it wouldn’t separate and send the basket crashing down on me I figured I’d add that dot of glue there.

If its held by little ‘grip shaped’ pieces, or horizontal pegs though, you’ll be good.

(I wasn’t sure my descriptions and names made sense, so I’m adding a quick doodle of what I mean ^^" on the left is how the ropes of the balloon fit in the basket, the ‘vertical pegs’, and why I was worried it could slip out. On the right is what I called the ‘grip pieces’)

That’s beyond helpful! Thanks a lot for the effort and explanations, I will definitely have all this in mind if I decide to “hang it” around. Which, spoiler alert, I will definitely probably do.
