📖 [Rokr Journey] Tilt-A-Whirl: Update 4

Some more painting today for this amazing build. The colours are not over powering. A gentle incorporation with a pastel colour which makes the main part stand out.

The electrical component is working beautifully. All the lighting are working.

I have painted the cup and one of the cup is not matching with the rest which I am not really happy about. So I will try using acetone to rub the colour off. However, I’m just afraid that I will mess up the whole thing. What do you think? Should I leave it or rub it off and paint again?

Here is a short video of the testing.

I think that acetone will harm the plastic.

It’s looking beautiful! The pastel colors work so well and really make the main structure stand out. And yay for the lights working perfectly, that’s always so satisfying.

About the cup, it’s barely noticeable and the little variation actually adds charm. I’d probably leave it as it is, acetone can be risky and you’ve done such a great job already

Thanks @Wenbare . I managed to get most of it off. Literally other parts comes off too. I had to repaint.

nooo please leave the special cup alone :sob: :sob: he adds a charm to the other cups

I can’t help if so I gave it a shot.
Made it worst. Then spending 2 hours trying to fix it because the original colour came off too. :grimacing:

It’s just annoyed me so much.

I think it’s all coming together beautifully especially now with the mechanism in place.

I would be afraid of the acetone that it might mess up the cup entirely.

oh was it badly disfigured??

It did messed up. took me awhile to fix it.

Not disfigured but the colours that I didn’t want it to come off it went with it as well. it was dissolving the top layer so it was a little sticky.

Oh no…I am so sorry to hear that. I am always afraid of making something worse. I ask myself, will anybody else really notice that…or should I just paint over it…so many questions. @Tricia12

Yes, acetone will melt plastic.

that’d have pissed me off as well!! were you able to fix??

The thing is with this plastic, it is so hard to paint and I tried to paint over it and that just didn’t work

I like mismatched piece. Maybe change the others to be like it. Or change half of them and alternate.
