📖 [ROKR Journey] Next build... Rokr: Steam Engine

Onto my next build it is! Saw this at the Brand Store, and decided this is going to be my next. Very colorful, kinda reminds me of those little steel miniatures. So this baby can drive forward and backwards as well, has a few LEDs. Anyway, I liked the whole look of it, so in my bag it went…

I think I am about halfway now and I can conclude… That this is definitely NOT your beginners kit. Do not start with this one if you have not got any experience with building kits at all. Please take my word for it. It has so many metal pins and gears that lock into others (and vice versa, because it can reverse as well), and moving parts it is (in my opinion at least) probably one of the most (if not the most) challenging builds I have done so far. I am actually surprised that I did not break anything yet.

Having said that… A very challenging, difficult build, but so much fun too. You do need to have a lot of bloody patience though!

That looks super cool. It has lots of pieces and gears for a small build which is fascinating.

It is not like a small build though, very challenging to get everything to work

Gaaf. I like these technical builds. Inlove building cars.

I’ve seen this one in the store as well, I think. I wouldn’t expect it to be that level of challenging! Thanks for the heads up and I’m also glad you’re enjoying the journey.

It can what?! :weary_cat: It actually drives! Wow this is so cool I really need to start venturing into ROKR once my Rolife backlog reduces.

I’ll follow your advice and probably start with something easier. Then come back to your post!

Lol  Yes, definitely start with something easier, I think with no experience, you will definitely get frustrated and/or break parts

Have not seen it in this forum actually, which I was surprised about

Yes, very challenging indeed, but cannot wait to get to it again!

That’s exactly what drew my attention to this kit! Loads of little details in this one!

Perhaps try it later, when you feel more comfortable with intricate builds like these  I think the finished result will make you feel very satisfied in the end!

I’m curious about it now!

I think either @Nita_Davis or @Liset have build this already. it looks really nice. I can’t remember exactly who have post it but it was amazing.

Very cool! My dad is making this, and it’s actually his first build. Now, my dad is very handy, and so far it’s been going pretty well. He’s still not finished.
