📖 [ROKR Journey] Marble runs - 2nd project

After the Dream Gift Factory, I was ready for a new challenge. I made both the Spaceport and Night City Marble Runs and the link to assemble the 2 into 1.

I really enjoyed building these since it was different from the first kit. I encountered some difficulties such as one broken rail which I could fix with some glue. But unfortunately the balls still do get stuck sometimes on that part.

I love the mechanics in this build, the way it all works together, I can watch it for hours without getting bored .

After the Dream Coffee Machine, which I hope to build soon, I will have the London Sightseeing Walk up next. :star_struck:

Wow - this looks extremely complicated but also so well built! I’ve never done any of the marble runs…this might have convinced me that one is next! Thanks for posting your excellent work. :star_struck:

Is your marble run working properly with the link?

It’s obvious that you enjoy the ROKR builds. This looks great.

Thank you! I thought it was pretty challenging, because of the very thin rails, it often felt very fragile and I was scared to break more pieces.

When a lane did not click exactly the way I needed it to, I fixed it with some glue because you want the balls to roll smoothly and not to get stuck somewhere in the middle .

I would love to see yours when you decide to build one someday

@Minus_88 I dont do these myself but I see a lot on here …. I think everyone who does these including yourself are fantastic what you put together and the patience you must have is fantastic !

Yes, all parts turn properly. The only thing that happens sometimes is that the marbles get stuck on 2 points, but that is because of something I did (broken and fixed piece) and not because of the link or the marble run itself.

Thank you! Indeed, I really do enjoy the ROKR builds

Haha thank you! I do have a lot of patience when I’m building these, but if I feel that it gets harder and I’m running out of patience, I just stop for a while.

If I don’t I might get reckless and pieces get broken :smiling_face_with_tear:. I have had less patience with some cheap book nooks from another brand and those are not really worth a picture.

I can understand that not everyone wants to build the marble runs. You build what you like most. Personally I really like the mechanical builds.

But either way, everything you build is fantastic too

I love this kit! Is it the one where you press a button and the ball falls?

It looks difficult to assemble!

This looks complex, but it’s incredibly well-made, and how cool that it works so well with the connector. Have fun with your next build!

No you don’t have to push anything. Everything works on its own. It is a really fun one to build.

I have heard many others say that the two don’t work well together. Did you experience any problems with the motor running them both?

No I did not have any problems. It all works fine as far as I know.

You are one of the lucky few. Well done

That sounds like an amazing challenge to take on! Combining the Spaceport and Night City Marble Runs into one build must have been so satisfying to see in motion. Even with the small hiccup with the rail, it’s great that you managed to fix it and keep everything running. The mechanical design in these kits really is fascinating!
