🥰 [ROKR - Happiness] Cuckoo Clock: A Lovely Journey Comes to an End

And to end the year… what better way than finishing it with this wonderful kit!

This time I focused on the roof details and the tiny little windows, which I find absolutely adorable. I started with the light cable, I think it’s such a brilliant idea that it runs along the side and connects through an inner piece. I even recorded a video because it’s just too good not to show.

I took a few photos before painting, but in the end I added some small touches with markers: a few edges here and there, the little tree with its star, and the curtains you can see through the windows painted red. I didn’t paint everything, just the parts that felt like they really stood out more with a bit of color.

Once the roof was finished and all the cables were connected to the battery box, it was finally time for the last details. I absolutely adore the white rabbit and his carrots, such a sweet touch. And with that… the cuckoo clock was complete!!! Yaaaaay!!

What a fantastic journey this kit has been. I loved it from start to finish. I honestly expected it to be much more complicated than it was, and that really surprised me. The details are amazing, and you can feel the care that went into designing it. I didn’t struggle with anything in particular while building; the trickiest part is setting the time so the cuckoo works properly.

I really love that the back door opens, allowing you to secure the pendulum and even set the time without taking the whole structure apart. The option to activate or deactivate the cuckoo by holding the stair button, or trigger it once with a simple press, is such a smart feature too.

Nothing broke along the way. Some pieces were more delicate, so I carefully removed them with a cutter, but keeping that in mind, everything went smoothly.

That was a wonderful experience that I’d recommend to anyone drawn to this kit. It’s an absolute joy to build.

I can’t wait for my grandma to get better and be out of the hospital so I can give it to her. I’ll let you know whether she likes it a lot or a loooooot a looooooooot! hehehe

Thank you for joining me on this cuckoo clock adventure. Next year, many beautiful new kits are coming! Happy New Year to everyone!

I’m not sure, to be honest. I took the batteries out so they wouldn’t run out and so the clock sound wouldn’t drive me crazy or scare me at night when the cuckoo comes out :joy::joy::joy:

That’s so sweet, thank you :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Happy New Year to you too, bestie :heart::heart:
I’m happy (and not surprised!) to know you’ll go broke getting this kit, it’s so worth emptying the bank account :joy::joy:.
For now, I’ll have to wait. Even though they say she’s doing better, it looks like she still won’t be able to come home for another month. So I’m not sure whether I should show it to her yet and risk teasing her… or wait and leave it at her place as a surprise. I honestly don’t know what would be best :smiling_face_with_tear:

Aww that does sound like a tough decision to make. :face_holding_back_tears:

I guess you’ll have to see how she’s feeling. If she’s feeling down and you think she needs some cheering up maybe you can show it to her.

But if her spirits are up and she’s okay then you can leave it as big surprise when she gets to go home! :pink_heart:

I’ve told her that I have a surprise ready for her when she comes back home, but yes, I’ll see how her mood is and maybe give it to her earlier because of that. Thank you :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thank you so much, @Jill_Francisco! I was actually talking to her today and she said there’s a clock right in front of her in the hospital room and she’s tired of looking at it… and all this time I’m thinking about gifting her a clock when she gets out :joy: :joy: :joy:

This is such a lovely build. I love my cuckoo clock too.

Mine was running at perfect time but now it’s late. I need to fix it. Is yours run on battery or usb-c cable?

:joy: I was wondering what her reaction will be @Wenbare :joy:
