I like to build things that I can display, look at them and think… ‘yeah, I build that’. So here are my builds so far! As well as my personal opinions on them.
Rokr: The Seahorse Barque
This was my first kit that started it all. I loved building this although it was pretty challenging. From the start I loved the attention to detail and the black and gold color scheme. Though I have not finished all of the wiring yet, It was really frustrating to do so after dropping some swear bombs I called it quits. Nonetheless, a beautiful looking display model!
Ugears: Star Wars Millennium Falcon
After (or during) building The Seahorse Barque I was bombarded with ads in Facebook and Instagram with other brands. As I am a huge Star Wars fan I could not resist buying this one… Also one of the few instances (or actually this was the only time) where I took pictures during the build. This build was huge with over 1200 parts, and took 30+ hours to make. It has an intricate gear system at the bottom so you can open the roof to view the interior, movable gun turrets on the roof and bottom, and several other small little gadgets that can move. There is also a blue led light in the back for ‘hyperspace’. The roof is made out of cardboard instead of wood. Absolutely love this model and it is my favorite by a mile! They have a few more Star Wars models I want to buy at a later date. Pricewise Ugears however is very expensive compared to Robotime.
Rokr: Marble Night City and Marble Spaceport
These were my first Marble runs, I started with Marble Night City, but then I obviously wanted Spaceport too to connect them with each other! Both were fun builds and connecting them to each other added to the fun and I like the interaction with each other!
Rokr: Gearball Scramble
This is probably my least favorite I build so far. Though I like the idea about it. Was a nice build but personally I like things I can put on display, so I can look at it and think ‘wow, yeah, that was such a nice thing to make!’ This is the only build that did not give me that feeling. Nice idea, but for me personally, for display purposes, it just doesn’t do anything for me.
Rokr: Zodiac Wall Clock
Next build was a clock. I was looking at Ugears actually for a new clock, but then switched to Robotime instead. Love the look of this but perhaps compared to other kits it was slightly more expensive, and a pretty short build as well. Nonetheless a lovely looking clock, with lots of little details.
Rokr: Space Shuttle
One word: Brilliant. How do you come up with something like this and making it so interactive with all the lights and movable parts? I absolutely love this build! Although halfway during testing the mechanisms it did not move at all… When I completed the build however, everything moved like a charm. Extremely fun to build!
Rokr: London Sightseeing Walk
Again, love this one with the little lights, the London Eye, Big Ben and all the other little details crammed into this (pretty much small) build. Had a little trouble with the lights, but everything worked out in the end.
Rolife: 1912 - Eternal Atlantic Voyager
My latest was this one, otherwise known as the ‘Titanic’ because it obviously based on it. A great build and beautiful display model! Though to be honest, I did not care much for the little room inside. I have this model set on a timer, so the lights will turn on at around 6PM and they will go off at 12PM. LED lights are brighter than I expected though!![]()
These are all my builds so far! My next build will be the Rokr Steam Engine. I have just started on this one, not really worth at the moment to show some pictures of that one, but will post soon
I also bought a new Star Wars model off of Ugears, a TIE Fighter, which I can connect to an X-Wing later.
