The carousels remind me of my childhood and the annual fair in our town. We children were always thrilled and looked forward to riding the carousels every year. I can still smell the scent of roasted almonds, cotton candy, and currywurst when I look at my little fair.![]()
I would have dreamed of going to the land of Santa Claus to meet him and his friends the reindeer in Lapland. I would have loved to prepare the gifts with the elves to give smiles to all the children in the world and especially the most unhappy. Offer a moment of peace and smiles on all faces young and old.
When I was a child, I always dreamed of having my own candy shop. I imagined a magical place filled with all sorts of colorful sweets and treats, where every corner was a new adventure for my taste buds. This miniature candy shop brings back those sweet memories and the joy of my childhood dreams. ![]()

A Childhood Dream: The Bookshop ![]()
When I was a child, visiting a bookshop felt like stepping into another universe. The moment I pushed open the door, the smell of paper and ink wrapped around me like a warm blanket. Rows of books towered above me, their spines like secret codes, waiting for me to crack them open.
Unlike toy stores, where everything glittered and shouted for attention, a bookshop whispered. It invited me to slow down, wander, and choose my own adventure. I remember running my fingers over the covers, trying to decide which world I’d travel to next — a ship at sea, a castle full of dragons, a hidden garden.
It felt like freedom. No one told me which
story to pick; the choice was mine alone. In that small act, I learned that I could steer my own imagination.
Even now, as an adult, stepping into a cozy bookstore takes me straight back to that feeling. It’s like opening a door to my own childhood dream — a place where anything can happen and every shelf holds a new beginning.
I loved every moment of making this book shop, crafting each book with delicate hands and creating a place I can see myself exploring.
When I was a kid, I was a huge fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean and Captain Jack Sparrow (who wasn’t). So naturally, I wanted to be a captain myself of a majestic ship and live the pirate life. It took me some time to actually realize I was born in the wrong era. The Seahorse Barque model brought back memories of the good old days when I had such whimsical dreams. Good luck everyone!
PS: I don’t have the model yet so I took a picture from the website and put it through AI. I would love to have this at my home and add whimsy to the lives of kids at home.
This is gorgeous!! You’re so creative!
Sakura Wine Alley. My childhood dream is to travel the world. Growing up I eventually visited many countries, most recently Bali Indonesia and Egypt, but Japan is in my bucket list. I love reading up about Japan’s minimalism and culture based on respect, cleanliness and strong work ethic. This miniature embodies the simple, yet beautiful artistry of the Japanese culture.
That’s a beautiful lantern @April_Parks
As a child I lived with my head in books to the point my grandmother told me if I wasnt careful I would fall down a rabbit hole just like Alice… I’ve always loved Alice in every form.. Alice makes me feel close to my grandmother even years since she passed… I smile thinking of all those sunny days in the garden with a book being told just don’t chase any rabbits
