My mother organized a reunion for her nursing training class today. She asked me if I wanted to give a workshop on building Rolife/Rokr kits. I felt very honored and, of course, said I wanted to do it. Unfortunately, not everyone from her class could be there, so there were only 6 of them in the end.
After I had laid out all the necessary materials, I gave an introduction of Robotime, showing a number of examples of builds I had already made. No one had experience making these kinds of kits, which made this workshop really fun. Some had heard of book nooks or miniature houses, but had never made them themselves.
At the beginning, everyone had to figure out how the instructions worked. I gave everyone a brief explanation, and before I knew it, the ladies were already building with great concentration.
Everyone really enjoyed doing it. Some hadn’t expected to get so much pleasure out of building. Unfortunately, no one was able to finish their kit during the workshop, but everyone took the build home and plans to finish it.
Awwww…what a lovely group of ladies. Sometimes smaller is better for one on help. Another successful meetup. Well done @Liset …and of course sending high fives to your precious little helper.
Your daughter is so cute Liset and it’s so nice when you have a supportive mother to your hobbies. You really put a big smile on the ladies that attended your meetup.
Such a lovely get together Great job @Liset for a successful reunion. They look so happy with their creations and you even have a cutie to cheer everyone on.
What an honor to be asked to lead a workshop like that! It’s often the people who have never tried kits before who end up having the most fun. I love that they started helping each other out and that’s exactly what the crafting community is all about. Having three generations there (you, your mom, and your daughter) makes it even more special!
How nice of you to do this workshop for your mom and her friends. You can tell from the pictures they had a good time . Also high five for your cute little helper
Thank you @Anje_Leonoza_Mira My daughter helped out really well. I had bought her a small craft kit with coloring pages and stickers so that she could entertain herself during this meetup as well
Thank you for your kind words @serenebliss_23 My mother was the only one who knew Robotime. She once made the tulip. Now she had a gravity swing, which was a bit more challenging.
Thank you @Jill_Francisco I followed your tip to use Capcut. It is a very handy program. I had to shorten it for YouTube because it couldn’t be longer than a minute due to copyright.
This is a second meetup that I organized. The interactions between everyone are nice to see. This group knew each other from way back, and it was nice to hear all the memories of their former studie.
