I found something today that made me smile and immediately think of this community.
There is a PC game on Steam called Book Nook, and right now there is a demo available. The funny thing is that it feels like playing a digital version of what many of us already love doing in real life: building tiny cozy worlds, one little piece at a time.
From what I’ve seen, the game is about creating miniature dioramas by placing furniture, decorations, and tiny details until everything slowly comes together. It looks calm, cozy, and relaxing, with that same satisfying feeling of seeing a little scene come to life step by step.
I also really like the music. It feels very cozy and relaxing, and it makes the whole experience even softer and more pleasant.
It also seems to have a story behind the different book nooks, which makes it feel even sweeter. I really like the idea of a game where you can enjoy the quiet process of building, without rushing, just finding the right place for each detail.
At the same time, I have mixed feelings in a good way. Part of what I love most about this hobby is building with my own hands, touching the pieces, gluing tiny details, and seeing something real appear in front of me. So doing it through a computer feels a little different for me. But I still found it really curious and cute, because it is so close to the spirit of what we enjoy.
I haven’t played the full game because only the demo is available for now, but I thought it was such a fun discovery to share here.
That’s a shame, Nita! I think I’m never going to stop playing video games. In fact, I play more as the years go by . But I really liked how this one connects with our miniature hobby in such a cozy way.

It should work on a laptop too, Jo, depending on the laptop. I had never seen anything like it either, but I found it so curious because it feels very close to what we already enjoy with real miniatures
That is exactly the danger! If we start building book nooks on the computer too, the real stash may never go down
The demo only let you build one, but when the game is out it seems you will have a lot more to build.
It does look really relaxing, and the music makes it feel even cozier. It was really nice. But I’m better at building them in person. There were a few pieces that didn’t connect because the game didn’t recognize that I was placing them correctly, so it made me nervous hahah
Do NOT let that happen. This is exactly why I no longer play video games. Don’t go there…LOL! My Word Blitz is my mini addiction…but only about 90 seconds per round. @Suzanne_Jones
@Wenbare this is such a fun discovery for miniature lovers. A digital book nook has a different feeling from touching pieces, gluing tiny details, and building something real, but the cozy step-by-step world-making spirit is clearly familiar. Thanks for sharing the demo with the community.
