I think it meant to remove the middle that had part F2 in it. I think I am ok!

well when you get there Dont take it out. It is not the grey gear, it is other pieces that are just placed in there due to space. I think it is F2 a smaller gear

It was tricky. There was actually a middle section that contained additional parts and that is what was to be removed, not the grey gear.
