Midway through construction I tested the lights, sound and movement. Lights and sound were good, but I could not get the motor to turn. I got and installed a replacement motor and on test the gears started to turn and then abruptly stopped. Now when I plug it in the gears no longer turn. Any suggestions on what may be wrong?
Please post several photos so hopefully someone here can help you.
Have you thoroughly sanded and waxed all gears and made sure they are properly engaged after installation?
Could you take a few pictures of this location?
Please share photos or video, maybe we help you.
Hi! Hopefully you’ll get the help you need to make this work. As others have said, photos and/or videos would help us see what’s exactly going on. Also, as @Nita_Davis suggested and as you can see in the manual, there are many pieces in this build, specially the gears, that will need to be waxed in order to properly function and turn against each other. Did you make sure to do that?
More information is needed. I’m sure someone here will be able to help you fix it. Goodluck and looking forward to your functional build.
Try posting a video. I dont know on what step you are. Did you already put in the black assembly line. It that step it is important that the brown plastic parts are pressed together firmly else the top part won’t turn
Thank you. After ready your email and that of others, you got me thinking about the gears. I decided to remove the motor and see if I could move the gears without the motor. I found that it moved for a short time and then it stopped. Apparently something is jamming one or more of the gears. Unfortunately, I will have to dismantle what I have and check each gear for a problem. Thanks again for your help.

Thank you for your response. After reading your and the other comments, I decided to focus on the gears. I removed the motor and tried to move the gears by hand. I so found out that one or more of the gears were jamming. So, unfortunately, I will have to dismantle the model further and check all of the gears. Thank you again for your help.
Bob
Thank you for your response. I am checking all of the gears for problem.
Bob
I believe I found the problem with the gears. Thanks for your response.
Bob
I hope you can find the problem there. On future models, anything that moves needs to be sended in waxed.
Thank you. I believe I found the problem with stuck gear.
Bob
That’s great that you found the problem. That must be such a relief.
