Hey guys
, in my last post I talked about posting what I keep in my craft cart, so here I am with that post! If you guys have any questions about the tools I use don’t be afraid to ask! ![]()
-
On the hooks on my cart, I like to keep the current tubes of glue that I’m using, as well as my scissors! I really like the Olfa brand for my scissors and craft knives, they are a Japanese brand that you can find on Amazon, or online hobby shops!
-
On my little basket on the front I like to keep my most common used tools, such as my pliers, pen, pencil, ruler, craft knives etc! One tip I have is that I use 2 craft knives, one I use for cutting wood out of it sprue, and other things that are hard on blades, the other is strictly for paper, this makes it so I’m not constantly having to change dull blades every-time I want to cut paper!
-
Up top I got some random stuff, glue that wouldn’t fit in the drawers, my magnetic alligator clamps, some paint, spare blades, glass file, etc! If you do lots of builds that involve cutting plastic, I highly recommend getting a glass file, it sands down any nubs perfectly and keep the plastic shiny! No bouncing around different grit sandpapers!
-
Also up top is my kind of over the top heat gun!
I didn’t like the idea of using a lighter for heat shrink so I bought a digital display, multi temp heat gun!
It works really well! -
First drawer I got my less used tools. I got some quilling tools that I learned about from @jeanneL ! I also got the multi size ring pliers, as well as flattening pliers that I saw in some of @Tkaplan posts! Some other things include wire strippers, and a sewing kit!
-
Second drawer is my spare glue drawer! A lot of B-7000!
Don’t want to run out of my favourite glue if the apocalypse happens!
-
Third drawer is batteries and UBC cables and plugs! I like to have a good stash for all my builds!
-
Next up is spare consumables, toothpicks, pointy Q-tips, files, etc! I really like using the pointy Q-tips, makes it easy to clean up in tight spots!
-
Drawer #5 has my new pink dremel I just bought after seeing it in @Tkaplan posts! I’m super excited to try it out!
-
Next drawer has all my spare pieces from builds. I don’t tend to keep all my spare pieces, but stuff I find I use commonly in builds I try and keep, like wire, and the clear plastic film for windows and stuff.
-
Drawer #7 is filled with all my new paint tubes I just bought!
-
Drawer #8 has my paint markers as well as a pack of gel pens! I find the gel pens work really well when you are measuring black wire, it’s clearly visible and easy to wipe off after!
-
Next drawer is just paint supplies like brushes, soak bin, and measuring spoons for when I need to make a stain out of paint!
-
After that I got my clay drawer, pretty much have every colour of air dry clay I should ever need! Makes it easy to colour match the dried out clay that the old Rolife kits come with.
-
And finally, the last drawer is just random containers for when I need to organize stuff in my build, like if I have to paint a bunch of different coloured items, or make a stain, etc!
-
That’s it for what’s in the cart, I still have like 2 empty drawers in it that I’m sure I’ll find something to fill them with eventually.
In other news here’s a tiny update on Dora’s Loft! I’ve been on nightshift the last few nights, so only building a tiny bit before work!
So just easy stuff, books and paintings and whatnot. Tonight is my Friday, so I’ll be off tomorrow and I can get started on the 20 plants I have to make, some of which are made out of clay which I haven’t done before, so that’s exciting!
Anywho, that’s all for today! I hope that you guys can find something useful in the posts and maybe get some ideas for some tools that might make building easier. Also, if you guys have any tools that you haven’t seen here, and can’t live without, don’t hesitated to mention them in the comments! I’m always looking for new tools that help make a build smoother!!
Thanks for reading ya’ll!
