[Pro Tips] And this is why I hardly ever use superglue!

When using superglue to glue beads together and creating a vase, don’t forget that glue can run down inside it all!!

After soaking my finger in acetate, I managed to partially dismantle the little vase. It then took another 5 minutes of soaking and gentle prising to get the bead off my finger. Another 5 minutes was spent soaking my fingers even further to get all of the glue off.
I used tweezers to reattach the vase to its base the next time lol

@Suzanne_Jones oh no! lol. I mean that’s a bummer but I genuinely laughed for having. Done this as well. Lol. Now I just use super glue on items that need some more encouragement haha

Oh no. It hurts too for sticking the super glue to our fingers lol

I have been there and done that more times than I want to talk about. Acetone is another one of those things that sits right on the table with me

Oh no… this happens to me all the time too! Super glue has such a watery consistency, so it really tends to run or slide off when you apply it to tiny pieces. What I usually do is lay the piece flat or prop it up on something so gravity won’t cause it to slip or drip. Other times, I lift the piece up and put a piece of paper underneath to catch any fresh glue that drips:wink:

Oh no! I’ve never used super glue on my builds after hearing your story I definitely wont now lol

Oh my God! Be careful—is your finger okay?

Been there  And I hate it, I only use the super glue with the precision tip and that helps a bit

Yep, that’s happened to me too! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: It’s amazing how quickly super glue finds its way where you don’t want it. I’m glad you were able to rescue the vase, and thanks for sharing the tip about using tweezers the second time around.

Oh no! :scream: this is so relatable. I have glued my fingers together more than I can count. That is why I prefer kits that don’t require any glue

I couldn’t believe it Dave. I thought I was being so careful and super glue was my last resort on this. And then when I went to out the vase down, I found that I couldn’t lol

It does hurt a little. I was trying to remove it and keep my skin on.

That was the first thing that I looked for. It sits beside me.

I think it’s a universal crafter’s issue.

I only use super glue as a last resort when all other glues fail, precisely for this reason. Thanks for the tips you’ve shared though.

I had tried at least three different glues and none of them were working for me, so I pulled out the superglue. I don’t normally use it and I thought I was being careful ha ha

My finger is a little tender today Sasa. I did manage to remove the bead with minimal skin loss. You’re so sweet to ask. Thankyou.

THIS! Yes! @Minus_88 …This is why my love for ROKR (wooden models) will never die. Glue is needed only if you break something. You learn to have patience and follow the steps to avoid doing so.
