Painting the Taj Mahal model without covering the laser etchings

I’m building the Taj Mahal model. I’d like to paint the finished model white for realism, but if I spray paint it, the beautiful etchings all over the model will be lost. Any idea on how to accomplish this - maybe brush on a whitewash or something?

I painted al of mine with a brush. The designs are etched into the wood. Even after painting it white, I was able to go back and paint the tiny details. Here is mine. Rolife Taj Mahal

Hi @FredR, welcome to the community!!
@Nita_Davis always gives great advice and paints her kits beautifully. Any other questions you have, she’ll surely know how to help. Also, the Taj Mahal kit she shared the link to turned out absolutely gorgeous, so is a nice model for your Taj Mahal

Welcome to community. You can use brush or use tape to hide beautiful etchings when you paint

Welcome to the community @FredR . I usually run over the lines with a fine coloured pen or tiny brush.

Welcome to the community!

The etchings on my puzzle box kind of show through acrylic paint. I was glad because I didn’t want to lose the etchings either.

Welcome to the community @FredR :hugs: I see @Nita_Davis has already given you some good tips. The details remain visible even after painting. You can then paint over them to make them pop more.
