[NOT ROBOTIME] Ugears: Star Wars TIE Fighter #2

Made a little progress today with this build. Again, what it all will do, how it will move, is a surprise to me. I never go ahead in manuals just for that extra element of surprise.

Last look at the inner workings… Few gears here and there, small motor installed.

Branding very much on point over here.

After attaching the top a little motor testing and all seems to be functional and working as it should.

After this I made some gun turrets, which I initially thought were movable by hand, but no! These are connected to the small engine as well via two pieces of wood connecting to a longer piece, much to my surprise!

Still no TIE Fighter in sight, but I think we’re getting there pretty soon. Nice build so far! Love how everything connects to each other! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I thought at first you were saying you don’t use manuals, I thought how on earth did you do that without a manual :joy::joy::joy:. On the second read I read it correctly ha ha
Looking great so far @Niels_Tempel

I just push out pieces and see what connects with which piece. Just joking lol

I mean, I take my time with builds but not that much :joy:

lol that would be super impressive and time consuming lol :joy::joy::joy: who knows what it will be at the end though ha ha

Thanks for sharing! We’re the same there, I don’t like to look too much into the manuals so it’ll be a surprise build haha

It’s an awesome build. Great progress so far. Is it for real that you’re not looking on the instruction manual and just guessing where to put the parts? :scream:

Keep those posts coming! Fun to see it coming together!

Off course I do look into the instructions, but I never look ahead in those. I just go page by page. So I don’t really know what I am putting together next, so to speak

I do the same. On occasion, if I am waiting for paint to dry, I may move to next step. Otherwise I work page by page. I know some look all the way through so they can see what they are getting in to. @Nita_Davis does this I think because she plans and customizes!

Oh okay. I thought you literally don’t look on the manuals while building. As for me, I just scan the pages ahead but still looking on the manuals and following the instructions per page too.

I am so bad at painting stuff. In my youth I made plastic airplane models of the brand Revell, but never really painted them. With a few exceptions though. I like the simplicity (when it comes to builds like these) to not deal with the hassle of that.

Having said that, I obviously admire the effort you (all) put into painting builds

I just never do that, I like to be like ‘surprised’ :joy:

Many do not care to paint and that is ok. Good thing about these is they can look great either way!

Off course I follow instructions :joy:
