Link Pack problem

Link pack for Night City and Spaceport. Motor runs but won’t turn the shaft. With only one belt on, it will run but with some difficulty. With no belts connected, it runs fine. The shafts can be turned easily by hand. With belt on, it makes a grinding sound. Help please.

I have done both kits …with great success running on their own. After following so many of the posts on the ROKR site where people have stated the same thing, I chose not to mink mine. For some, it may be an issue of not waxing properly as many do not choose to do so. I sand and wax between every gear. I am not saying this is the issue, as many have had problems and blame the motor or belts. Either way, I am sorry you are having this issue. I will leave mine as they are.

It’s just that the link looks so cool with the balls exchanging between both.

Best of luck to you. I have seen a few succeed. I am unsure if that was because they properly sanded and waxed every tooth of gear (as I did)…or if they purchased a different motor. I am good with mine exactly the way they are.

Have you already made it work?

Sorry to hear about it. I don’t have done both kits to help you. You can ask @CustomerService for helping

I haven’t build those kits but I hope someone from here can help you to resolve the issues.

I have seen so many people having issues with the link pack. I’m guessing it’s not strong enough to run for both kits. I think it is time for upgrade @Robotime.

Hello there, this jamming issue is caused by excessive friction. We recommend testing each product separately until it runs smoothly, then connecting them together for further testing. Since the motor has limited power, this kind of jamming can easily occur.

Did that. Each one will operate very smoothly on it’s own. The belts are tight and pull the axle to one side increasing friction. If the axles were fixed better so they wouldn’t pull to one side or, if the motor were stronger, it would probably work. And since others have the same problem, it seems like a design defect.

I hope you get help that fixes the issue. Good luck!
