I finally finished the furniture. All that gluing, I have as much on my fingers! So the furniture is supposed to look aged so I do not think I will paint, BUT the superglue leaves a whitish film. Maybe I should? This was a little challenging, especially the chair and the drawers. I miss my snap togethers. and @Jerry_Boswijk I made handles, yes wires, and I think they turned out ok.
If you look at the display case top left, you will see what I mean regarding super glue. Give me your opinion regarding painting?
Your handles turned out great!! Those are shelves and stuff, so I imagine they will have a bunch of props on them that will help cover up any glue showing. I think you’d be okay, not painting, if you don’t want to.
And yes like what @Atropex and @Jill_Francisco said it will most likely be covered up anyway. But depending on what glue you use, I always use a pair of sharp tweezer to sort of pick up any excess glue while it’s still soft. Like picking lint off clothes? I hope I make sense but it’s worked great for me so far!
You’re wire work is really good. I almost never use superglue. I use tacky glue and a small brush to apply a thin layer. Works great. Tacky glue is also white but when dry it turns clear.
@Jerry_Boswijk that is usually what I use but thought super glue would be easier with the furniture. Not!
back to tacky! I feel like the wire bending went a bit better this time, so will see! Thanks!!
The furniture looks great @jeanneL! The details turned out really nice. If the super glue left a white film, a light coat of paint could help blend everything in, but only if you want a cleaner look. It already has a nice aged vibe as it is!!
WOW! Your handles look super nice! I don’t think I would be very good at those….and you already KNOW my opinions on painting…LOL! You just do what YOU would like to do!
