Customer Service has confirmed it is a fault with the string lights going up the tower, which are attached to the engine lights under the launch pad and are sending a replacement with no shipping charge. Yes, it is going to be a massive job disassembling this one, but thankfully this model required very little gluing so it should not be too much of a struggle, just tedious.

Even though this one requires no gluing, I have built it and that sounds like a pretty major task so I am very sorry that this happened to you
