Family, in my humble opinion, is the most important thing a person can have. It’s not perfect, and sadly not everyone has a family they’re proud of, and sadly some people don’t even have one. But I’m proud to say I love mine, and as I love to build kits, my family and their love built me as the person I am today. That’s why I tried to put together both things in one picture.
That’s what I’m most grateful for and what I want to share with you today: my family. You can see my parents in the first picture in black and white. They’ve started to build the family by loving each other, which is perfectly portrayed in that image. They’ve build and amazing marriage and they’ve loved each other and keep loving each other as much as they love my brother and I. You can see the product of their love in the other picture in which we all are: my parents, my brother and I.
That picture is a few years old, but the essence is there and that love remains. They’ve built our family with effort, love and hard work, as I’ve built the Seahorse Barque for the family decoration (after all, my grandpa and my father are the reason I love the sea in general and ships in particular), and the Water Lily Wall for my mum (who is the most flower-lover person I’ve ever met).
And you know the best thing about love, about family? No matter how much you love each other, no matter how many things and memories you build together, there’s always more to come. Similarly there’s the Dream Gift Factory on the background, which is not finished yet, or the 3D airplane behind the lilies, which is yet to be unboxed.
What can I say? They’ve given me so much, and they deserve so much in return, and not only in return, but also because I love them and because they deserve no less. To build these kits and to decorate their home, our home, with them… Is the least I can do, the least I love to do. And that’s one of may reasons why I love this, because it’s not just a hobby. It’s a way of showing my love to the people I care about, through something I can build with my bear hands.
Thank you for giving me that chance, @Robotime.
