Have you ever spent 10 or 20 minutes looking for a tiny piece, convinced it wasn’t in the box…
…only to realize it was:
Still attached to the wooden board.
Sitting right in front of you.
Hidden under the instruction booklet.
Or already assembled into another part!
I’ve learned that before assuming a piece is missing, it’s worth taking one more careful look.
My little checklist now is:
Check both sides of every board. Look under the instruction booklet. Double-check the piece number. Search around my workspace. Take a short break and come back with fresh eyes.
More often than not… the “missing” piece magically appears!
Miniatures have taught me that sometimes slowing down is the best way to solve a problem.
I once spent an entire weekend looking for a part that flew off a mechanical build i was doing only to later find it in the hood of my sweatshirt when I went to do laundry
Hahaha, that’s a great habit! Staying organized definitely helps. I try to keep my workspace tidy too… although somehow a tiny piece still manages to play hide-and-seek every now and then!
Hahaha! That’s the best kind of plot twist! Spending an hour searching, only to realize you had already installed it. I think every builder has a story like that at least once!
Hahaha, it’s such a common experience! It’s amazing how that “missing” piece suddenly appears after one more careful look. I’m glad I’m not the only one this has happened to!
Hahaha, yes! It’s like the piece is playing hide-and-seek with us. Then the moment we slow down and check again… there it is, right where it was all along!
@MamaNheza earlier i emptied a bag onto my craft table and yes one little door handle went flying and yes theres me on the floor withnmy glasses on trying to find
The darn thing !,
Oh no! I could picture that so clearly! The tiniest pieces always seem to launch themselves the farthest. I hope you found the little door handle in the end. Those miniature scavenger hunts are definitely part of the hobby!
My husband and I spent time one night looking for a piece that I knew that I had out down in particular spot. I decided to pack up and think of ways to fix it the next day. As I was packing up. I realised that it had been under my craft mat the whole time. And I have no idea how it got there!
Mine appears after I’ve completed the build!!! If i can’t find it in a minute, i’ll rummage through parts from other kits and see if there’s something else i can use
