Hi there. I bought the rokr cuckoo clock at Christmas for my husband and we have built it together. The light works, the clock works and the pendulum works. But the cuckoo and chime is a different matter.
Initially we tested it and it worked perfectly… but once in situ it didn’t work… I am a crafter with good attention to detail and I checked the assembly thoroughly. I have had it working again briefly when testing but it has never actually worked on the hour.
We ordered replacement parts and when we fitted them it worked perfectly… once… and then has never worked since.
On the hour I hear a rapid little whirring/clicking type sound but the Cuckoo doesn’t chime or make a noise. I’ve pressed and held the step and checked switch on/switch off… Ive checked the bird will come in and out smoothly if I open the doors manually, so it’s not jammed. I’ve done the suggested reset of the clock, it did not help.
We love the clock but really want the cuckoo to work!

Update….. I swapped out the batteries and the cuckoo and chime now work great when I press the step, so we have progress! … I waited for the hour to come round… but the cuckoo came out and chimed at 3 minutes past! How do I recalibrate the clock so it comes out on the hour?

I’m not sure why but initially when I set both the hands to 12 it kept chiming at 3minutes to! Then with more messing it chimed at 5past! It just wouldn’t land on the hour. I ended up having to take the roof off and wiggle the whole clock mechanism and try again… then it worked perfectly. So perhaps the clock wasn’t perfectly aligned before?
No matter.. it’s now chiming perfectly and hubby is delighted! He said he may ask for another kit for his birthday!
Can anyone recommend a good one? (Preferably not another clock!)
Kind of depends what you like. If the mechanicals are your thing try one of the Dream Factories. I just finished the Gift one. There are short videos to help if you get stuck which are very helpful.
I am not as big into the book nooks but have done a few and they are fun. I also enjoy the rooms and stores. I have made 35+ kits so hard to say! Look at a few either in person or online and see what interests you. Make a list. Feel free to share that and can get some opinions!
And I am glad cuckoo is working. Mine took 3 times too!
