My mother with dementia is 81 and lives 2.5 hours away. I haven’t seen her since last year because it is a 5 hour round trip. I do keep in touch with her though. She remembers to use the phone and my number is preset into it.

Mom is several states away so we try to talk frequently! and I try to visit twice a year.
It’s hard when they live so far away.
