Today was a really good day. Since I had already done my orchid for the blooming book, I took my extra one over to my sister’s house and me and my niece Mackenzie made it together. I gifted my other niece Laker with her magic mouse Charline plushie. She was in love with it. It is almost impossible to get her to pose for a picture but at least it isn’t a blurry one because she’s always moving. After painting 33 petals for the Sakura flower yesterday, my handy dandy stand showed up today… LOL! The Sakura flowers are a work in progress but I have finished the others. I am just going to say that I have broken more pieces on the Sakura flower then on anything in my life . These are the woes of pre-painting stuff . My eucalyptus are built and now I need to mix up paint for them. Still a ways to go because I haven’t figured out what I want to do with the book part

Does the wood become softer after painting that’s why they break easily? But they do look beautiful painted.

You have really cute nieces. It looks like they love hanging out with their favorite aunt :blush:

It will be softer if it is still damp…yes. MY issue was with painting the tiny pistils and stamens for the inner portion of the Sakura petals. I had to sand most of it off because they are such thin fragile pieces going thru small holes. I should know better. :melting_face: My nieces do love me. Thanks for your kind words @Jill_Francisco

Thank you so much! I would have been SO much happier if those clips had arrived on Wednesday when they were supposed to…LOL! Oh well, they will still get plenty of use in the future.

Building the orchid together with your sister and niece is such a special memory to create, and gifting your other niece the Charline plushie is just the sweetest, even a non-blurry photo is a win! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The Sakura struggle is very real, but I actually think the orchid is worse :zany_face:. Wishing you many more cozy, creative days like this :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
