@jeanneL. The rubber bands help the doors and trunk and hood open and close. It is also a “motor” on the Dream Cabriolet.
Thanks for response! sounds intriguing! The car is stunning! But does indeed look difficult!
The rubber bands are used to power the model. You twist them and when they release it powers the cogs to move the car forward. Also it is used to open tje hood and doors.
Thanks for response. That makes sense. I was trying to visualize it! What color did you make yours?
I left it as it was just naturel wood. I never thought of painting it. That is a lot of work as this one has over 800 pieces.
Wow that is alot!
That looks so cool @Nita_Davis . I love the colours
Thank you very much @Tricia12 . I hate that one line that doesn’t align on the door…Maybe one day I will try to fix it…
Probably not, though
I kinda get OCD when things not align too. But sometimes trying to fix it will cause more headache. so I will then try to leave it and forget about it. ![]()
EXACTLY! So true @Tricia12 I am painting the straw that holds that light wire inside and it is candy cane striped. I messed it up SO bad that I am now painting a 1/4 inch strip of red to wrap and it after I repaint it back to white…LOL!
That was part of roof right? You almost need to tape around and fill in the red
I have the problem solved…much easier to just paint the whole thing white …and then glue a red strip of paper around it. Tape could pull the paint off and I’d be back to square one…again. @jeanneL
Well at least you have learned what works and what doesn’t right? glad you can still fix it. Some of the parts that I build and when I glued them incorrectly, there is no way back other than customise it into something different. LOLZ.
@Tricia12 Trial and error. We all learn from our mistakes. Still learning stuff every day. These models are NOT like painting houses.
Congrats! Looks like super fun builds!
Have fun building!
Thank you @Emma_Samchek When I get to these, it will have to be drawing a number out of a hat to pick which one to do…LOL!
