I make pumpkin pie every year with fresh pumpkins! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: The guts are good for squash soup. And of course seasoned pumpkin seeds! I make use of the entire pumpkin :hugs: But thats super expensive! I couldnt imagine!

Interesting! The big orange ones you buy here people really dont tend to cook with haha
I havent ever had pumpkin pie, but i had a pumpkin tart a few weeks ago and it was so yummy!

The smallers ones are easier to bake, my oven is big so i have enough room for the big ones, i usually cut it in half and put then face down on a pan and bake them like that. I should send you a pumpkin pie recipe! Pumpkin pie with whipped cream is my favorite around this time! :heart_hands:

I have a good friend who lives in Texas and she sent me a pumpkin pie recipe recently im going to give it a go soon! Maybe for halloween! :star_struck: i will have to let you know how it turns out!

Wahhh for real?? :astonished_face: that’s very interesting! As for whether we eat them or not… it’s quite a topic, because there’s been an effort to raise awareness so people don’t waste them. Many buy several pumpkins just for decoration, but then throw them away, and by the end of Halloween, tons of pumpkins end up in the trash just like that. The idea is to encourage people that if they’re going to use them for decoration, they should also make use of the edible part.

Thats a great message to get across. Too many people are starving to waste food like that!

I saw a funny post once where someone put a full pumkin on their porch and they make the eyes and mouth shape with peanut butter and then after a few days a rat (or something) had come and chewed the eyes and mouth and carved her pumpkin for her :rofl:
