The Heart of Christmas ![]()
In the hush of winter’s evening,
When the world is wrapped in white,
There’s a glow beyond the snowfall—
A softer, warmer kind of light.
It shines not from the tinsel,
Nor from stars that crown the tree,
But from hearts that beat together
In quiet, shared harmony.
For Christmas isn’t measured
By the ribbons or the gold,
But by hands we choose to hold onto
As the year grows tired and old.
It’s the laughter at the table,
All the stories, old and new—
The gentle art of listening,
And the grace of hearing too.
It’s in mending little heartaches,
Letting grudges fall away,
Finding strength in understanding
What the other meant to say.
For family isn’t perfect—
But it’s love that learns to bend,
A circle made of second chances,
Where every road can end.
So this Christmas may we cherish
Every moment, every start,
For the gifts that matter most of all
Are the ones we keep in the heart.
And together, wrapped in kindness,
May we learn, forgive, and see—
That the truest spark of Christmas
Lives in you, and lives in me.
PS:
Christmas is a reminder of what the year should mean to all. A moment to appreciate the passing of time and acknowledging the importance of family and desire to be happy. It should be a time to be in the present and not held back by our past or dragged forward by future issues.
