This will be my first musical instrument. From a contest win. just opened it and looking through. This will be challenging especially when I get to the strings! Going to begin painting and will most likely finish when I return from my trip! Nanci is here to guide me of course!

I am hoping! I noticed there is some writing on the guitar which may be covered up but will see. It would be very hard to paint around it!
I just painted right over that writing. Most times even if you paint over it, you can still see it because it’s engraved in there and then you can use a fine marker to make it stand out again, if you wanted to. @jeanneL
That’s such a wonderful kit to start with! It’s going to look amazing, especially with those metallic touches — silver and purple sound perfect together. I love that Nanci is keeping you company too; she’s the best little assistant. Have a great trip and enjoy every step of the build when you’re back!!!

Wow have fun! I always think it’s amazing when you customise something but I have yet to do it myself. I think this will turn out really unique!
I was like you as well. Wasn’t sure whether I could add my personal touch into it. But once I did, I got hooked into it.

Do you just use model paints that you use for making model airplanes and things? Or are there specific kinds of paints you use for wooden figures like these?

I used these acrylic paint pens. I also had some little bottles of acrylic paint I used.
