This will be my first musical instrument. From a contest win. just opened it and looking through. This will be challenging especially when I get to the strings! Going to begin painting and will most likely finish when I return from my trip! Nanci is here to guide me of course!
I tested my acrylic markers on the greenish board and it looks like the metallic silver or purple covers the best so part of the guitar will be one of those.
I just painted right over that writing. Most times even if you paint over it, you can still see it because it’s engraved in there and then you can use a fine marker to make it stand out again, if you wanted to. @jeanneL
That’s such a wonderful kit to start with! It’s going to look amazing, especially with those metallic touches — silver and purple sound perfect together. I love that Nanci is keeping you company too; she’s the best little assistant. Have a great trip and enjoy every step of the build when you’re back!!!
Do you just use model paints that you use for making model airplanes and things? Or are there specific kinds of paints you use for wooden figures like these?
@Yves at first I thought the video was your guitar! Then I watched the video. I was thinking holey schmooly lot a work painting there!
I like the gold touches you did. Looks great.
