I haven’t done many of the Rolife mini houses so I would like some advice please. I am up to the point of installing furniture and building walls. It seems to me that it would be so much easier to get most of that furniture inside before building and closing in the walls. Do any of you ever deviate from the instructions?
I usually just follow the instructions because thats just the way I am. I am the same with recipes. I can cook without them but if i have a good recipe that is tested and works then i dont tend to deviate.
Most of the kits are more open than the green houses but for the cathys flower house the whole walls and roof goes on last. You could even probably go half way and put the right side and back wall and then add furniture and then add the rest of the exterior.
I cant remember what i did for this kit because i have built so many kits since this one. If you think it would be easier I cant see a reason why you couldnt.
Also, its all looking so cute! ![]()
Thanks a lot @Nectarines . I am going to be sure to look ahead and make sure what I need open for installing lights and at least do the 2 walls like you suggested.
Good luck! Im sure it will work out great! Looking forward to hearing about how it goes ![]()
Sorry @Nita_Davis i can’t give you advise, but you did an amazing job already! The little details look awesome ![]()
Thank you very much @Liset . I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit.
I’m curious to the end result, i’m sure it’s going to be amazing
for me Rokr is still more fun than a miniature build ![]()
I do enjoy them more as well because there is so much room for customizing…but with all these prizes I am running out of ROKR kits that I really want to do…It’s good that I am expanding my model styles as well. @Liset . Another reason I got that darn Scorpion…LOL!
I have not tried making mini houses before so I have no advise for you @Nita_Davis
But if it’s my first time I would surely follow the instructions step by step.
I deviated from the instructions and all is good. I could never imagine trying to get all of that stuff glued into place with all four walls up. @Jill_Francisco
I also agree that the details should be included before the wall is built. It makes it easier.
Hahaha It’s also quite difficult to win that much
It’s also fun to try out new projects. Have you made any book nooks yet?
I’ve done 2 nooks and 3 other mini houses. @Liset
Ohh you tested all kind of builds
you’re the most expert of the community ![]()
I usually just follow directions as they have usually thought about the other in with things are placed. Never had problems with it
Not at all @Liset but I have done a little of each so far.
That’s true…but on this one…I looked ahead and decided to place my furniture with only two walls up. @Jerry_Boswijk
I am a rule follower most often. I would follow the directions. With mine, alot of the stuff went in before the walls but mine were these crazy acetate walls with this slot and tab (simialr to boxes we build). It would have been difficult to put those on before furniture.
I just couldn’t stop thinking of how hard it was going to be install of those pieces with 4 walls up. I opted to break the rules…and it’s all going well. @jeanneL
