DIY Miniature World Challenge update 19

Very happy with todays effort.

Firstly a little funny for you that I am sure many of us can all relate to (for those of us with partners who know what the vacuum is for and how to use it).

So today was a lot of hiding wires and mounting the ground based spotlights. I painted the wires black to make them easier to hide when I get to working on the exterior ground and everything that will be covering it.

The wires on the exterior of the building will be hidden under vine work.

That was another big part of today, vines. Vines on the exterior with some of them creeping into the interior to tie the structure to it’s environment. The back half of the roof was also put in place so I could start working the vines into the roof.

Mr Ghost and his cohorts are back from their bionic rebuild and look better than ever and several of them are in place. Mr Ghost wanted to say ‘Hi’ as he missed you all in his time away from the spotlight.

Excuse the crappy black paint around one of his eyes. My old eyes didn’t see that until I just added this picture now as it is blown up bigger on my screen. I will have to get the IPA and a cotton tip out and fix that.

And lastly, a lot of moss and ground work around the tree to finish hiding the white platform it is sitting on and to integrate it into the environment. The moss still needs a colour treatment to tone down the green, and then it and the tree and ground will be autumnified.

Yes, that is a spotlight mount buried in the moss. Whats it for?

So whats left? The front wall and front half of the roof, some more interior environmentals to enhance the abandoned/unused look, vines and ground work on the other side (not the tree side), finish the vine work for the front wall and roof, some additional elements to put in place outside the front, and of course, the additional LED that I am waiting on that, according to Aliexpress tracking, cleared export customs yesterday and is waiting for its flight to depart so it is looking good for its ETA of 13 October.

How are things going for you?

Happy Crafting Folks.

All of these elements look amazing. I laughed so much because I always tell everyone to keep a lookout for any tiny pieces and bring them to me, and NOT think it is just a broken wooden piece :joy: it might just be veryyyyyy important

Vines to cover the wiring…great idea! You are leaving no (tomb) stone unturned on this kit.

Thank you @Gidge. Not long now.

:joy: I see what you did there :joy:

Yes I was thinking of all the ways to cover them that I have seen people us, and everything would have needed further painting to blend and make invisible. So I was looking at my supplies and thought the vines would be a good way to disguise them instead.

Thanks @Sasa. Not long at all

This is looking amazing - your vacuum image made me laugh

It reminded me a bit of the time my mum was in my room and accidentally switched on my games console - she couldn’t work out how to switch it off so she pulled the plug out at the wall :scream::scream:

Does Mr Ghost glow in the dark? He’s got that greenish glow about him that makes him look a bit glowy

I’m loving what I can see of your build though - can’t wait for the big reveal

Damn…you spotted it. :joy:

That was the special paint that gave me so much grief and looked terrible because even after 5 coats, ithe glow was still very patchy and he looked a horrible colour in normal light, so I reprinted him with glow in the dark filament and it turned out perfectly.
