[DIY & Creativity] The candy shop project has officially begun! 🍭✨

I love your system of preparation. I do the same with checking out and planning my colors. You do have some great organizational skills as well. My workspace is a complete mess…ALL of the time. I am looking forward to your updates.

That’s such a fun twist to your project! :sparkles: Sometimes the kit we think will be perfect ends up being more of a challenge than expected.

I’ve heard good things about the Amazon ones too. Maybe I’ll have to try those next.:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Modern art, where someone sells an invisible artwork for €18,000. Sometimes I look at stories like that and wonder if the old masters would be laughing or crying. :joy:

I think that’s one reason I enjoy miniatures so much. At least when I spend hours making a tiny chair or painting a wall pink, people can actually see what I made.:heart:

I think you’re absolutely right! :joy::two_hearts: Sometimes I wake up and wonder if my brain spent the entire night redesigning the project without asking me first.

And yes, that’s exactly what I love about people like Tim Burton. I’ve always been drawn to things that are a little whimsical, imaginative, and different from the ordinary. I think that’s why I enjoy customizing so much—it gives me the freedom to create something unique rather than just following the instructions.

Thank you for saying that about switching kits. It was a little painful to abandon the original plan, but once I opened the box, I knew I would spend more time fighting the kit than creating the candy shop I had in mind. Becka’s Baking House feels much closer to the vision, even if it means starting over.

Hopefully all this planning, revising, and second-guessing will be worth it in the end. :joy::lollipop::two_hearts:

The walls I primed was also thirsty today. At the start I couldn’t see the grey color because it was all sucked in, in seconds. I was spraying and spraying :rofl:

Thank you! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::two_hearts: I’m excited too! The pastel colors are actually what made me fall in love with the idea in the first place. :candy::artist_palette:

Thank you! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::two_hearts: It’s always reassuring to meet someone else who spends a lot of time planning colors before starting. :joy:

And don’t let the photos fool you—I only show the organized parts! My workspace can go from “creative studio” to “looks like a craft store exploded” in record time.

Yes, I should take a closer look at the set before I started planning everything. Fortunately I had the Becka’s Baking house in the stack :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thank you so much. Hope you will like it:heart::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@Tinybysiw the switch from Henry’s Chocolate to Becka’s Baking House sounds like a very thoughtful creative call. All that priming, palette testing, and paint-cart preparation already makes the candy shop feel like it has a clear personality. Please keep showing the process as the sweet little details come together.

LOL! Even my (somewhat organized) pics show the mess looming in the background…

@Grey74 the “thirsty wood” point is such a useful build note. Priming can feel optional until a surface drinks up the first layer, so this is a great reminder for anyone planning paint or marker work.

Thank you so much! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::two_hearts: I love to keep sharing the process as it comes together with you guys in here. :candy::sparkles:

Haha, maybe you can ask ChatGPT to edit the photos of your messy table and clean it up :rofl:

I am impressed. I do not have that kind of vision. Art is not my strong point for sure. My Aries personality will get a start from seeing what some others have done then I just go. Hoping it comes together.
What I will say is that on some things (like writing papers) I will gather info and then think about it forever. As I get closer to a due date, I will write.
You are so so much more thoughtful about what you did!

I m looking forward to your updates. It will look amazing for sure. You do have a lot of hobby materials, but I guess that is only normal for someone as creative as you are.

Enjoy this kit!
