I made this model quite a long time ago. Back when I first started, I was not painting them so I decided to pull this one apart a bit and give it my favorite colors. Arbor Green, black, parchment White, and gold.
Adding a touch of green makes it look like some emerald vibes.
This kit seems super interesting to me.
Ooh the colors are muted but elegant. I like the choice!!
Beautiful! It looks like it could hold the the to The Emerald City!, ![]()
Thank you very much. @Anje_Leonoza_Mira Love that color.
It turned out really great. I love the colors you picked. Was it hard to pull it apart a bit?
Thank you so much @Minus_88 I only pulled apart the very top section that opens. I use a paring knife to pry things apart and it always works out well even on the curved pieces.
It has a combination lock and then it opens up and the Box will actually be pushed up from the bottom after turning the keys on the back
It looks nice. You have a nice mix of colours and just enough wood showing through.
Thank you very much. Staining is so much easier when you don’t want to pull the whole thing apart, so that is what I did. @Suzanne_Jones
Love the colors, looks great ![]()
Looks fantastic! The colors made it really more appealing!
You always do a good job! ![]()
Thanks so much. I may have to pull a couple more models apart to paint them…eventually. @Tinybysiw
Sounds like a wonderful future project ![]()

Thanks so much for your kind words @joy.licerio
That’s great. It looks mysterious.
Thanks so much @ThaoNguyen
@Nita_Davis the Arbor Green, black, parchment white, and gold palette gives this Mystery Box a completely new personality. It’s especially impressive that you revisited an older build and carefully pulled part of it apart to repaint it. That kind of second-life customization is really inspiring.
Very interesting! I think i’d like to try this one, too
