I have been waiting for a theme like this for a long time. The ocean is my happy place, so combinining that with a miniature is perfect!
I can’t wait to see it finished, but for now I’m enjoying the process.
One of the things I love about this hobby is even if a ton of people post about building the same kit, everyone has their own version…none of them are exactly the same.
I have done a bit of painting so far. I painted the chair and the table legs.

I didn’t like the silver vase that sits on the table, so I painted it and gave it an antique sort of look.

I also didn’t like the brown vase that sits on the floor, so I added some gold accents to it.

The watering can seemed a little boring, so I painted it blue and added Glossy Accents to make it look like water.

I didn’t like the paper lemon slice, so I added a polymer clay lemon slice that I had on hand.

As usual, I painted the edges of everything.

That’s it for today. It was hard to leave my work bench for the day, but you can bet I’ll be back at it tomorrow! :heart:

@Tkaplan the ocean theme clearly suits you, and the early custom touches already make Sunset Isle feel personal. The antique-style vase, blue watering can, and polymer clay lemon slice are such nice little decisions. Looking forward to seeing how your version keeps growing.

You were able to add so much fun changes! I just love this. Since I am now home again, I will need to work on some polymer stuff. Your lemon slice looks really nice!

This looks so beautiful with the painted edges and customization. It’s making me want to get this book too. My wish list is getting long while my backlog is still not moving :sweat_smile:
