[DIY & Creativity] Five-storied pagoda - color determination

As I finished my owl clock last night, it’s time to think about my next kit. This week I got this five-storied pagoda as my March Leaderboard prize.

I have just unpacked it: 11 little wooden boards with miniature parts. I want to start building right away!

But I already got the question: ‘Are you going to paint it?’

Well technically I don’t have any actual paint, so I wouldn’t describe whatever I’m doing as painting. But yes, I want to add some color with the acrylic markers I got.

For inspiration, I have asked chatGPT to give me some suggestions. And I got this:

I think I like the first or the last one the best.

What’s your favorite AI suggestion? And would you use AI as well for inspiration?

Let me know :wink:

The first option is very realistic.

Although, as someone who knows about Japan, did you know there’s a special pagoda? Hehe, it’s pink!

This pagoda is real and it’s in Nara. :pink_heart:

I agree. I’ve chosen the colors that look the most like the first suggestion. The exact ones I don’t have unfortunately. So I hope the end result will be nice. :blush:

Thank you! I did choose that first one as my definitive suggestion. So I searched for colors that were looked like those the most in my box of markers. Hopefully the end result will look like that one. :crossed_fingers:

@Minus_88 ok hun ! :smiley::blossom::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Painting and color matching should be done appropriately.

Yes, you should test your paint or markers and select the colors you want to use before. As a little tip: try on a piece of leftover wood. You get an idea of how the color will look on your kit.

I have just posted my first update about the pagoda. I’m not entirely sure about the red I used. I wanted it to be a more brownish red, but unfortunately I don’t have that kind of color in my box of markers.

So this one will have to do. And I’m sure I can be satisfied with it in the end result :smiling_face:

Thank for you advice. I will try
