Day 4: Sakura Pavilion 🌸 and the magnetic clips saved the day… again

Guqin Instrument and Table

I also completed the Guqin instrument today. Using the mini clips made a huge difference and made the process much easier to manage.

The strings held well with glue, which was a relief. I had some spare wires that were bent in odd ways, so I decided to use them to add a bit of character to the piece. It also gave me more practice with wiring, which I’m slowly getting more comfortable with.

Pink Cabinetry

I finally finished the pink cabinetry today. I did have to repaint it in a slightly different shade of pink after chipping part of it during assembly, which was a little frustrating, but it ended up blending in better than I expected. I do wish the pot inside the cabinet was more visible once everything was in place, but overall I’m happy with how it turned out and how it fits into the space.

Warped Wood Challenges
Once again, I ran into warped wood pieces. Getting a clean, flush finish was difficult, and it took extra time adjusting and coaxing everything into place. It’s not perfect, but considering the condition of the pieces, I think it turned out as well as it could. These kits really test patience and problem-solving skills.

Wiring Work

All the Caninet wiring is now put together. This part definitely took patience. I ended up making three duds along the way, but I’m glad I pushed through because the finished ones came out nicely. It’s one of those steps where mistakes are unavoidable, but each one helped me understand the process better and improved the final result.

Overall Thoughts

Day 4 was more technical, but still very satisfying. Even with the small setbacks, everything feels like it’s coming together little by little. Progress may be slow, but every detail added makes the pavilion feel more alive.

I’ve been used to working fast on most of my kits, since I have always loved building legos and solving puzzles. This one really takes you back in a calmer state. Unlike Dora’s loft… ahahaha

Joking aside, thank you very much! I am glad I was gifted this kit, it’s been a pleasure working on it

Thank you sis :face_blowing_a_kiss::face_blowing_a_kiss::face_blowing_a_kiss: Trial and error talaga, I think i will invest in a thiner nose pliers to get the smaller curves, talagang delicate sya. it gets warped so easily. I had to make sure I have enough gold wires left

Thank you for the kind words. I did struggle a bit with the warped wood, but I feel like it adds its own character, and I am okay with it just the way it is. I put a lot of care into those wires, so it truly means a lot. Thank you :white_heart:

I don’t see any glue stains on Guqin instrument which amaze me because the wires are so thin and need a sharp eyes when placing the glue. :pink_heart:
