Day 3 on the Blooming book

So here we are at day 3 on the blooming book by Rowood. The Sakura blossoms are fighting me back. I’m not going to lie when I say that I have glued several parts multiple times and I’m not done gluing yet…lol! I am very happy with everything else so far and I will tackle those darn flowers. I’ve used several shades of pink for the Sakura. I’m also testing a new technique which I did on an old piece from my previously failed Vitascope. I may use this technique on the book cover . I used it as a test piece because I have a new one to try again. It worked and all but it wasn’t very pretty. I tested it on the legs which won’t be seen Down Below because they are made from MDF and not real wood like the vitoscope piece is . We shall see how it works out . Stay tuned for the next episode of “I failed it or I nailed it”…lol!

So nice

I love the Sakura petals! :pink_heart:

Oh what technique are you using? I have absolutely no clue when it comes to painting hahaha.

Will return with like!

Thanks! I won’t be sharing the new technique until I know if it’s a success…or a complete failure…LOL! Almost scared of trying it on a feature piece of the MDF…very different from real wood. We will see.

Finger crossed! At the very least you’ve got something to test on.

I did test the process on the lower legs of the model…still quite iffy…If all else fails, the entire part of the exterior book cover will go black…LOL!

It looks beautiful. I am sure you will nail it.

Black is still a very elegant colour! :black_heart:

I haven’t paint any kit with black before. I would love to try. I think @Nita_Davis did really well with this part.

The colours are beautiful.

the Sakura really does fight back, you’re definitely not alone! :joy:
Gluing the same parts multiple times is basically part of the experience at this point. I love that you’re experimenting with different shades of pink and testing new techniques first on hidden pieces, that’s such a smart way to do it. Can’t wait to see whether it’s a nailed it or failed it moment (my money’s on nailed it ).

Hoping it works well! Looking forward to seeing this

Thanks @Tricia12 I am going to try the black today.

Thanks so much @Tricia12 . It didn’t turn out as well as I thought, but it’s OK.

The flowers are pretty in my eyes. Is the quote included in the kit or are you the one who made it? I like the message of the quote.
