I have read all the help posts and have tried everything suggested. My friend is also building the same model so I tried the circuit board and motor from his kit and it works fine.
It appears I need new ones for my model. Is it best to e mail ROKR directly. Thanks

Yikes! Hopefully you got to sort out this issue with Robotime CS team and get replacement asap. 
It definitely sounds like you’ve done all the right troubleshooting steps—especially testing with your friend’s circuit board and motor to confirm the issue. Since those worked fine, it does seem like your kit’s parts are faulty.

Hello there, please try removing the batteries and testing the unit using only the USB power supply to see if the issue still persists.
