Alrighty!
So… Maybe nobody will really care about this, but I don’t really care about the fact that some people may not care about it. Does that make any sense? Did I use the word care too much? Ah, potato potahto.
Anyway
since you can highlight one (and one only) topic in your profile, I’ve decided to do this one for mine, in which I’ll include every single build I finish (and I’ll update it with every build I finish after posting it), so if there’s even one person interested in what I’ve built so far, it’ll be here, listed in one single post.
So here we go! (And yeah, I’m using AI to give them a proper background, it seems more interesting and original than my boring living room filled with Funko Pops
).
BTW, this is not a “best to worse” order or anything close to that. They’re just listed in the order I’ve built them ![]()
1. [ROKR] Seahorse Barque
My thoughts on this:
- The most majestic kit I’ve built so far, by far
- It’s entertaining, it’s not as hard as it seems, and it’s a long satisfying build
- The choice of colours is spot on
- The few foldable parts included are so, SO fragile
- Even if the manual doesn’t say it and the kit tells you “no glue needed”, there are a few steps that strongly require it
2. [Rowood] Glittering Water Lilly Wall Art
My thoughts on this:
- It’s a quick build
- The colours and style really bring spring-like vibes to it
- The water effect is fantastic
- The instructions are not too clear in some steps like the lightning-placing
- It’s pretty tricky to fit the water lillies to the ground after adding the plastic layer or water
3. [Rolife] Classic Caroussel
My thoughts on this:
- The build it’s so stable and the materials are some of the best I’ve ever worked with in a kit like this
- You can easily finish it in a single evening
- It’s easy and the instructions are really straightforward
- Imo, the two music options don’t really fit the build
4. [ROKR] Dream Gift Factory
My thoughts on this:
- The most satisfying and fulfilling building process for me to date
- It’s such a clever design and building process
- You can play it with or without music
- After some time, the reel of toys may stop working for no apparent reason
5. [ROKR] Ocean Fisher Pendulum
My thoughts on this:
- The hanging movement is hypnotic
- It’s an easy and pretty quick build
- The materials for the box and base are strong and stable
- Some parts are super easy to break (gladly there are plenty of spares)
6. [Rolife] Bookstore Book Nook
My thoughts on this:
- It’s a longer build than I would expect
- The details are so taken care of
- There are SO many little books to make (and so many covers you stick that won’t be noticed)
- The overall look of the final build is somewhat simple yet majestic
7. [Rolife] Atlantic Voyager “Titanic”
My thoughts on this:
- The inclusion of the showcase room is an amazing detail, even if it’s not at scale
- There are SO MANY tiny little details to add to the decks, and the many parts to handle for those are incredibly fragile
- The string of lights has the length required, nothing more, nothing less
8. [ROKR] Santa on Sleigh Pendulum
My thoughts on this:
- It’s a quick and not-that-hard build
- Some parts are easily breakable
- The hanging movement is nice and hypnotic
9. [Rolife] 3D Airplane
My thoughts on this:
- The wooden parts of these smaller wooden kits are SO fragile and break SO easily
- It can be built in an evening or two
- There’s something different and magical about a small wooden-coloured build
10. [Not Robotime] Minas Tirith Book Nook
My thoughts on this:
- This brand of Book Nooks is nice but not as detailed or smooth
- It’s an easy and quick build
- In this case glue is 100% required for many steps of the build
- The final image of it is not that bad but I’d liked it smoother and more filled with details
11. [Not Robotime] Mordor Book Nook
My thoughts on this:
- The looks of it are better than in the Minas Tirith one, although still give that “artificial” vibe
- The instructions are not 100% clear in some steps
- The light designed for the Eye of Sauron is too stretch through the tower and it’ll easily stop working
12. [Rolife] Sailing Ship
My thoughts on this:
- Like in other small 3D wooden kits, the parts are more fragile than in other more expensive ones
- My build didn’t include the guns on deck since all the parts and spares for those easily broke in my hands
- There’s cord included to “sew” the ship but I didn’t do it for a similar reason, it was a low quality rope
13. [Rowood] Chamomile
My thoughts on this:
- Rowood flower kits seem nice and easy to follow and build
- It can be built in two or three hours easily
- It’s dangerously easy to break a stem during the crafting of it
- It gives you many options to decorate the pot, and to either use the crafting pot provided or any other you would buy or build
14. [Rolife] Cheers Bar & Dining
My thoughts on this:
- The Miniature House process of Rolife is nice, easy to follow and so original
- Paper-made flowers are devil fruits and should never exist
- This brand is really paying a strong attention to detail
- The stickers for bottles and stuff like that should be glued, they tend to easily “unstick” themselves from curved surfaces
15. [Rolife] Ferris Wheel
My thoughts on this:
- The “wagons” are easy to make yet too fragile
- The moovement is not that smooth, maybe this kit should include a wax bar
- It’s one of the easiest builds among the cheap small 3D wooden kits
16. [Rowood] Golden Sunflower Wall Art
My thoughts on this:
- It’s way easier to build than the Glittering Water Lilly one
- To build that pot with folding paper doesn’t seem like the smartest idea
- The colours and design really are spot on
17. [ROKR] Spring Time Bouquet
My thoughts on this:
- It’s basically a combination of many of the single-plastic-flower kits together
- The process of making each flower is smooth and easier than expected
- It’s a completely different kind of build than the wooden one; while I prefer the wooden building process, I like the smooth look of the plastic flowers
- The materials included for the DIY flowerpot are not good to my taste, it seems a bit chaotic and I didn’t enjoy the look of it
18. [ROKR] Viking Dragon Ship
My thoughts on this:
- The building process is faster and easier than I expected
- It’s tricky to work with bigger parts than usual
- Nobody understands why a viking ship comes with a big rotating wheel
- The final look is so majestic and nice
- The oars could row at a higher speed than they actually do
19. [Rowood] Wooden Blooming Book
My thoughts on this:
- It’s the best looking flower kit I’ve seen so far
- It’s somehow customizable, which is nice
- It asks you to build stems and them remove them, which has no point at all
- The book structure is stable and pretty nice
20. [Rolife] Romantic Venice Book Nook
My thoughts on this:
- It’s one of the easiest builds I’ve tried so far
- It beautiful and vibrant
- It may be lacking the amount of detail seen in newest Nooks of the brand
- The touch sensor is accesible both from the front and from behind so it’s pretty easy to touch it by mistake while moving or holding the Book Nook
