Today was day two of being in Chicago to attend miniature shows. @jeanneL and I got to attend a class to learn how to make breads out of polymer clay. It was so stinkin’ fun!
After class we went to the Chicago International Tom Bishop Miniature Show. It was held at the Marriot Hotel at the O’Hare International Airport, and let me tell you it was huge! Three large ballrooms packed full of every size and type of dollhouse miniature you can imagine.
There were vendors there from 27 countries! Those people have amazing talent! Unfortunately my wallet couldn’t afford most of the items at that show, but boy was I tempted! There were some awesome dollhouses and incredible hand made accessories from dolls, to real crystal chandeliers, stained glass doors/windows, and so many more awesome things that I couldn’t begin to do justice describing them. Here are pictures of some of what we saw…
This was an adorable little toy store that I practically drooled over…it was so cool…and so expensive! The $85 price was just for the walls and roof. The second picture shows the prices of the items inside the toy store.
Tomorrow I will take a class to learn how to make a charcuterie board with cheese, crackers, meat, etc. and then we head home.
It was so great being able to hang out with Jeanne and share our excitement of miniatures with each other and anyone else who would listen to us! Haha…
WOW! This looks like a dream come true to see all of these amazing kits! 27 countries? That’s crazy. Glad you and Jeanne had a fun time! The breads look great. Have fun with the charcuterie boards!
Oh wow!! Miniatures are certainly an expensive hobby for sure. But my heart, that She Shed is adorable!
Great job on the bread. I expect to see more of this from you and @jeanneL now that you have learned how to do it.
You and @jeanneL are so lucky to have attended this event. I would love to go to one of these events. And you did great job on making the breads using polymer clay. I bet it’s so fun.
Oh my gosh! Your little breads turned out fantastic!! That looks like a lot of fun! I hope I can go to the show like that one day! Can’t wait to see your charcuterie board tomorrow!
