I know it’s just a warning, but I panicked This warning had me removing every piece from the boards very slowly and very carefully! I also took time snapping the pieces together because I was truly convinced that I’d snap something.
Thankfully… the flower made it through in one piece! I’m now about halfway through my Red Rose—the flower is complete, and next up is the stem!
Thanks to all those who encouraged me, I decided to paint the edges before assembling. I thought the rainy weather would make the paint take forever to dry, but I was able to do two coats as it dried much faster than I expected. I’m really happy I took the extra time because I think it gives the petals a much cleaner, more finished look.
Well, it’s back to work tomorrow. So, hopefully I can squeeze in a bit of crafting when I wake up or after I get back from work.
It’s looking gorgeous already! That warning would have made me extra careful too.Sometimes those little notes make us feel like one wrong move will end in disaster! I’m so glad everything went smoothly, and painting the edges was definitely worth the extra effort. It really makes the petals look more polished. Wishing you another cozy crafting session after work. I can’t wait to see the finished rose!
@Gidge that warning clearly inspired museum-level care, but it paid off—the complete flower looks elegant and survived every cautious snap! A rainy day feels like the perfect backdrop for moving on to the stem.
You wouldn’t believe it @Zoe_Lau . I almost did!!! I felt one of the small roses bend when I was attaching it to the base then I saw the tiniest crack. Luckily, it didn’t split wide open so I just applied white glue hoping that it’s enough to hold it together when it dries up.
