I’ve decided to start this kit just for the pure fun of it. I was thinking about painting every piece, but for now am just staining them to see if it keeps the rustic look and still looks good. Here goes…!

I am going to guess the telescope or that ballista thing that shoots cannons or something like that. I can’t recall the name of it

I did not spend much time on the community today as I was too invested in my DIY project .
I was going to say the telescope as well.
I recently completed it, just as it is, didn’t color it at all. I love how you stained it already

I thought so too. Just the little markings on the wood make it special already. So I was happy enough with just building it.
I imagine it is a great gift to give and to get

I got the tip to insert a black paper sheet in the tubes just a little too late (I closed them off already).
That would make the view a little more clearer as there will get some light between the pieces otherwise.
It works alright, but of course you have to keep in mind that its main purpose is decorative. So it is not as good as an actual telescope.

Hi @Tkaplan, this guessing game was such a fun way to start the build. The stained pieces already set a rustic mood, and it is lovely to see everyone jumping in with guesses and photos.
