You know? May the 2nd is the main local holiday where I live (Madrid, capital of Spain). It’s some sort of… Local independance day, you could say? It marks the date where people from Madrid made themselves free of the French invaders from the Napoleon army.
Funny twist: That invasion was actually our own fault for being naive and stupid 
basically, the French army told the Spanish crown something like “hey, I’d like to take that Portugal territory for myself, would you mind it if we all go through your kingdom in order to get there? We won’t do anything to your Spanish territories at all, I swear. It’s not like we’re trying to take over the whole of Europe or anything”.
And so we trusted them.
And… Oh surprise, they were lying!
